New hire spotlight: Sarah Vulcain

Written by Luisana Batchelder

Our haku team is growing. The newest member is Customer Experience Representative, Sarah Vulcain. Originally from Haiti, Sarah recently moved from Canada where she called home for many years to Miami to be closer to family and her fiancé. Let’s get to know her a little more!

What is your role with haku?

As a Customer Experience Representative, I support event organizers and help them promote and market their events to more people using the company’s social and marketing tools. I monitor the events to achieve maximum satisfaction for my clients.

What are some of your biggest accomplishments, personally and in your career?

One of my proudest moments was when I organized a successful 3 day festival in New York right after college. At the time I had no previous work experience, it was challenging but so rewarding. I know this experience gave me the confidence I needed to thrive and succeed at every other point of my professional life.

On the personal side, my biggest accomplishment is that I always managed to maintain a happy & healthy relationship with my family and friends while still giving 100% to my career. I was always able to combine all the things I love most.

How would family and friends describe you?

Detailed-oriented, affectionate & reliable. They know they can count on me, anytime.

What do you enjoy most about living in Miami?

I love my social life here! I like that Miami is a fast-paced city, there’s always something to do.

What are some of your long-term career goals?

Long-term I would want to be head of a department. With hard work and enough experience, I know I can be in the decision-making process.

If your boss announced an unexpected day off tomorrow, how would you spend the day?

I would treat myself to a 90-minute massage!

Do you have any unique talents?

Not necessarily unique, but I am a great cook and I know how to plan & decorate an event. I can make (almost) anything look good!

What is your favorite dish to cook?

I love cooking Risotto, I don’t do it very often since it’s a very rich dish but I love trying new ingredients in my risotto recipes. My favorite one so far is my black mushroom “djondjon” risotto!

Here are some pictures of my dishes:
