February 2025 Workout Details

SDTC currently hosts two coached Track Workouts (Metro & North County Locations) on Tuesday evenings and a Tempo Run on Thursday evenings for SDTC members. Saturday Long Runs are open to RnR Program participants only. 

New or visiting San Diego? - You are welcome to join a workout or bring a friend to participate in our workouts. Runners who participate regularly are encouraged to become an SDTC member.

Tuesday Track Workouts


SDTC Metro

Feb 4 

  • A Group: 10 X 400 w/partners
  • B Group: 4 x 5 min @Threshold Pace w/ 30 seconds rest
  • C Group: Same as B

Feb 11

  • A Group: 5 x 800 @ 10k pace w/ 3 min recovery
  • B Group: 2 x 15 min @ Threshold Pace w/3 min rest
  • C Group: Same as B

Feb 18 

*LOCATION CHANGE: MEET AT DE ANZA COVE PARK @ 6PM* 

  • A Group: 4 x 1 mile @ 10 sec faster than marathon pace w/ 400 recovery jog
  • B Group: 2 x 20 min @ threshold pace w/ 5 min easy between intervals
  • C Group: Same as B

Feb 25

*LOCATION CHANGE: MEET AT LIBERTY STATION PARK @ 6PM* 

  • A Group: 10 x 400  w/ 45-60 seconds recovery 
  • B Group: Same as A
  • C Group: Same as A

Thursday Tempo Runs


Thursday Tempo Workouts are held 6PM on Thursdays at Mission Bay (typically the Runner’s Bathroom), with a once a month “field trip” to an alternate location. We have a post-run social after every Thursday workout!

Feb 6- Runner’s Bathroom Mission Bay

  • Warmup 10 mins easy on own
  • Dynamic warmup
  • Main Set 
  • 3-5-7-5-3 minutes @ tempo pace with 1 min easy in between 
  • Cooldown 5-10 mins easy

Feb 13 - Runner’s Bathroom Mission Bay

  • Warmup 10 mins easy on own
  • Dynamic warmup
  • Main Set 
  • 5 x 5 mins tempo effort with 1 min easy jogging in between 
  • Cooldown 5-10 mins easy

Feb 20 - Coaster Saloon @ Mission Beach Boardwalk

  • Warmup 10 mins easy on own
  • Dynamic warmup
  • Main Set 
  • 30 mins descend (build every 5 mins beginning at marathon effort)
  • Cooldown 5-10 mins easy

  • Warmup 10 mins easy on own
  • Dynamic warmup

  • 4 X 8 mins @ tempo effort with 90s recovery between 
  • Cooldown 5-10 mins easy
